Industrial Natural Gas Safety Course

The course is designed to give staff a knowledge of safety regulations, procedures, and standards that must be applied when working with natural gas plant.

Who should attend?

The course is intended for operatives, maintenance engineers, managers and supervisors working on gas fired process plant.

Duration

Five full days including assessment

The course content:

Overall system understanding:

Gas safety regulations and standards, interpretation and examples of contraventions

Properties and combustion of gases

Emergency procedures

Burner types, safety controls and air/gas ratio, including appropriate UK and European Standards

Pipework systems, both installation and testing - IGE/ UP/1 and IGE/UP/2

Requirements:

Plant room appliances, ventilation, flues and boosters

Gas detection equipment and flue gas analysis

Maintenance programme

Assessment / Certification

At the end of the course all delegates are required to complete a written and practical assessment. Those who pass will be issued with a City & Guilds Certificate in Gas Safety.

Venue / Numbers

The course is normally run on a customer's premises and the ideal number of delegates is eight people
